7. PRODUCTION
7.2. GENERATION

7.2.4. Maintenance and refurbishment

In 2001 the necessary volume of repair work was completed. Turbines with the total capacity of 39 thousand MW, 132 ton/h of boilers for power generation, 7.8 thousand Gcal/h hot-water boilers were refurbished.

During the period under review improvements were made to the planning, material and technical support, organisation and carrying out the repair work at power stations and in the heat delivery networks. There was a considerable increase in the funds allocated for repairs made possible due to the transition to cash payments (75% compared to 50% in 2000) and the introduction of production and financial programmes (PFPs) in the energy systems of problem regions. Regional energos and power stations paid a particular attention to the allocation of funds for repairs in their budgets and monitoring expenditures of such funds.

In 2001 488 tenders were held for the selection of contractors and suppliers of material and technical resources. Orders placed through tenders totalled 1.8 bln roubles or 5.5% of the total repair cost. The savings resulting from such tenders totalled 280 mln roubles.

The total debt to suppliers and contractors in 2001 was reduced by 4.4 bln roubles (or by 29%). The debt to suppliers of material and technical resources was reduced by 4.8 bln roubles (or by 48%).
